Google 101

What is Google's G Suite, and how does Shaker Schools use it for learning and teaching? Learn about the basics of the Google Suite for Education and how students will interact with the apps as well as how families can set up their own Google accounts.

Google Sites and Google Classroom

Each grade level/class will use Google Sites as a virtual learning hub. The website will house daily lesson plans, resources, and access to teacher communication (depending on the grade level). While Google Sites is being used as the main hub for information, each teacher’s Google Classroom will be the avenue for posting and turning in assignments. Join us as we explore Google Sites and Google Classroom features/navigation.

Google Meet

Google Meet will be the primary video conference app used for synchronous and asynchronous learning, as well as individual/small group support. Join us as we learn how to sign in and navigate the controls of Google Meet.

Clever and Abre

Abre is a landing page for parents/students to access important information and announcements, student data, and shortcuts to apps/programs. Clever is a single sign-on platform where students will access log-ins for all of the digital apps/programs teachers use with them. Join us as we learn how to navigate these 2 resources for students and parents. Apps/programs available to students via Clever.
