My name is Mr Eccersley, I am proud to be a Geography teacher and Associate Assistant Principal at Outwood Academy Shafton.
In my role of Associate Assistant Principal, I work within the Deep Experience team and lead the careers provision within the academy. In this role, I work with our junior and senior Scholars - groups of high achieving pupils across Y7 - Y10 to tailor specific career information, advice and guidance (IAG). This includes organising A Level taster sessions, university experiences and links to employers across the country. Further to this, I plan for careers activities to be included in lessons giving pupils a wide array of exposure to a mix of possible career choices, along with my colleague, Mrs Armitage.
My aim is for students at Outwood Academy Shafton to have high aspirations, and with the help and support of staff across the academy, begin a career path in an area of their choosing.
As well as this, I work with colleagues in Deep Experience to plan for enrichment, academy events, and provide students with the best experience possible while at Outwood Academy Shafton. I am also a Outwood EdTech Trainer and Google Certified Trainer, and in this role I ensure staff and students in the academy are using Google For Education to aid their school and home learning.
