SEKOLAH GLOBAL INDO-ASIA

PYP Exhibition

8 - 9 April 2021

SGIA 2019 DRONE .wmv

Sekolah Global Indo-Asia (SGIA) places the students at the centre of the teaching-learning process, embraces the diversity of its students, parents, teachers, and non-teaching staff; and explores the opportunities to respect and learn from a variety of cultures, attitudes, beliefs, and experiences. The school ensures the integration of best research and practices from different national curricula.

SGIA aims to provide a comprehensive and balanced program that focuses on acquiring a wide range of significant knowledge, developing essential skills, fostering positive attitudes, and providing opportunities for meaningful action and social service.

SGIA students are exposed to a broad variety of subject areas in order to facilitate a well-balanced education, which guides students in discovering their particular interests, talents, and abilities for use in the future.

This philosophy allows programs to be directed toward individual development and enrichment in the following areas: intellectual, physical, moral, spiritual, and social. Each school day incorporates citizenship training, character development, personal values, and ethics. Emphasis is placed on instilling respect for citizens of all nations and specifically the heritage of Indonesia. Students graduating from SGIA are well-prepared for entry into English speaking universities throughout the world.

Principal's Foreword

What an awesome celebration of the students’ learning! I am amazed at what they have achieved. Their passion to lead change and make a difference; perseverance through the ups and downs; teamwork and finding solutions in a new context.

This year’s G5 did not have it easy and they all had to work extremely hard to drive their group inquiry and conduct their research in the new context. The resilience and perseverance of the students and all the teachers and mentors involved have been a highlight of this journey

The IBPYP exhibition is an important milestone in our students' journey as they come to the end of the Primary Years Program. It serves as a culmination of the five essential elements of the PYP, namely skills, knowledge, attitudes, concepts and action.

It represents the independent learning that is sparked by the students' interests and passion surrounding key issues that they want to inquire into, and ultimately take action on, to improve or create awareness about circumstances around these issues.

The exhibition also serves largely as a testament to the collaborative nature of our programme and epitomizes the meaning of what it means to be a true IB student, an internationally-minded, global citizen. This year our student body has truly risen above all challenges in executing their first virtual style exhibition presentation, and we are very proud of them.
