Ulloa Elementary—the Gem of the Sunset
“Where Every Student Shines!”
Nestled in the fog of San Francisco, Ulloa Elementary School is the shining gem of the outer Sunset District. We are a community of diverse families, students, and teachers. We rank in the top 10 K-5 elementary schools in the San Francisco Unified School District. Ulloa provides an innovative standards-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on literacy. There are 520 children attending our single-story, two city block facility encompassing 48,200 sq. ft. The school is a clean, well lit structure with a computer lab, a formal auditorium, a bright cafeteria, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and a large school yard with two play structures. Our facility also features a fully licensed childcare center.
Ulloa is truly a place of lifelong learning. The teachers are dedicated and provide differentiated instruction to ensure that each student succeeds. Through continued professional development, our staff stays abreast of current best practices. This makes Ulloa a school of high academic achievement and a place where children want to come and learn.
Aside from our extensive academic curriculum, Ulloa offers a multitude of opportunities for our students to shine. We have enrichment programs such as gardening, Artist-in- Residence program, Performing Arts Workshops (PAW), and physical education. Ulloa has adopted the Caring School Community Program which builds conflict resolution strategies, fosters communication skills, and features cross-age buddies. These programs create a stimulating and challenging learning environment for all students to shine. Come and learn more about our wonderful learning community!
