October is Filipinx American History Month

This Resource Guide provides links to literature, lessons, content, events, and other resources to celebrate the rich history and contributions that the Filipinx community has made in the United States. The SFUSD Filipinx History Resource Guide was created by a task force representing various members of the SFUSD Community, including Kababayan SFUSD, LEAD, Curriculum and Instruction, and school sites. Resources were curated from a host of sources, including the Filipinx community, Teaching Tolerance, UC Davis Bulosan Center for Filipino Studies, NHUSD, SLZUSD, The San Francisco Public Library and many more. This is a living document that we will add to and update each year.

Combatting Anti-Blackness

 Friday, May 21st 4:45-6:15pm

Zoom Link

Thank you to those who have been able to join us this past semester as we have dug into critical topics around power, identity, race, humanization, dehumanization, assumptions, implicit bias, explicit bias, and affirming and disaffirming actions.  At our last meeting we practiced engaging in dialogues with our own community members towards combatting anti-blackness using the linked curriculum above.

This week we will dig into our Filipinx identity and the impacts of anti-Asian sentiment, reflect on what we've learned and accomplished this semester, celebrate our successes this year and look forward to next school year. See you then!
