GWHS Wellness Center
Welcome to the Wellness Center!
The GWHS Wellness Center is a comprehensive center available on campus in Room 121 for students and the school community. You can come to us for many reasons including: band aids, jobs, counseling, condoms, resting, nutrition questions, and more! We provide education and resources about various health topics such as: safe sex, alcohol and other drug use, depression, stress management, nutrition, family concerns, and other important issues.
Our team consists of the Wellness Coordinator, Nurse, Community Health Outreach Worker (CHOW), and RAMS therapists. In addition, we have several trained counseling and nursing interns that support our services. We also have a dynamic group of students called, Youth Outreach Workers (YOWs), that help represent Wellness services by leading classroom presentations and various interactive health promotion events throughout the school year.
Our services are free, voluntary, and confidential. Everything that happens in the Wellness Center, stays in the Wellness Center (unless there are concerns about your safety and well-being). Please stop by, and visit us!
WELLNESS REFERRAL: REFER A STUDENT
*Please contact the Wellness Coordinator at: email@example.com if you need to consult.
The Wellness Referral Form is available both online and at the Wellness Center. If you or a student you know is interested in any service(s) at the Wellness Center, please click here: Wellness Online Referral Form.
Students can also request services for themselves or peers by completing the Student Request for Services form (click on document to the right).
Please turn in any completed referral forms to the Wellness Center mailbox in the main office or to room 121.
Our services are voluntary and confidential, which means students decide if they would like to access services, and we don't share personal student information unless there are concerns for their safety and well-being (self-harm, harm to others, or someone is harming you). Often, for more serious or long-term services, we will connect students with providers in the community or through their health insurance plan.
How to Access our Services
Students may see the nurse or a counselor by appointment, or with a pass from their teacher during class time. Students may also drop in at lunch and after school to see us without a pass. Parents, teachers, school staff and student peers may also refer students and encourage them to come talk to us.
The Wellness Coordinator, Nurse, Community Health Outreach Worker, RAMS therapists, and other Wellness Counselors are here on campus every day, M-F. We are here to work alongside teachers and families to promote the personal and social well-being of students and to build the foundation for academic success. Call us at: (415) 379-8111 or email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org to consult. Our fax number is: (415) 750-8414.
