Mr. Fulwiler

Hello,

My name is Thomas Fulwiler and I believe science is every where and we all love it! I grew up in the bay area, in Fremont, and have lived in San Francisco for some time now. I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a B.A in Biology. After graduating, I continued my studies at City College of San Francisco, obtaining three different certificates ( Sexual Health Educator, HIV/STI Prevention Education: Case Management Skills; Facilitation; Outreach Skills, and Infectious Disease Prevention in Priority Populations. After my studies at CCSF I went back to SFSU where I earned a Biology Credential in Secondary Education. I started teaching 9th grade biology at George Washington high School and I have taught summer school biology at Balboa High School. After several year of teaching 6th grade Earth Science, 7th grade Life Science and 8th Grade Physical Science at Aptos Middle School. I am excited to return to George Washington High High School and I look forward to a wonderful year of science.

My previous careers have been as a small business owner in Fremont, as a floral designer at my own shop. I worked twenty years at New United Motors Manufacturing ( Car/ Truck Assembly Plant known as NUMMI) in Fremont, CA. I started working there as a passenger assembly line worker, motor line (subassembly) worker, new vehicle project planner and a quality control specialist. After leaving NUMMI I started a career in the Funeral Service industry. I worked in various positions from arranging services to preparing remains for viewing.

I have always been around science, love science and see it in our every day lives, filling it with excitement!

In my spare time, I love reading, watching movies, gardening and cooking. My family take a good amount of my time and I would not trade that for anything. I enjoy cooking and baking, approaching both as if I am creating a lab experiment. Love trying new recipes and mixing unique ingredients together.
