"Digital citizenship can be defined as the norms of appropriate, responsible behavior with regard to technology use." - Mike Ribble

Maintaining the safety and security of San Francisco’s students is essential to our task of creating opportunities for effective teaching and learning for every student, every day.

Why Digital Citizenship?

A fundamental essential for schools is to create citizens of the future who are able to function successfully in and beyond our communities (Vision 2025). Because the digital landscape has become fully integrated with our modern way of life, it is up to community members to model and consider best practices when navigating within digital environments. We must collaborate, communicate, create, and think critically in safe, responsible, and appropriate ways online. Behaving as upstanding digital citizens promotes an environment of mutual respect.
