Lunar New Year begins on February 1st! In many East Asian cultures, Lunar New Year is a celebration of the new year based on the lunar calendar. In China, it’s Chinese New Year 農曆新年. In Vietnam, it’s Tết nguyên Đán. In Korea, it’s 설날 Seollal. In Tibet, it’s Losar. Many people are familiar with the Chinese Zodiac Animals that change with each new year. This year is the year of the Tiger. So if you were born in 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974 or 1950, you my friend are a Tiger.
