The Native American Parent Committee serves as an advocate for students and families and as advisers to the program. We work with the program staff and Santa Fe Public Schools Administration. All three entities together work to: develop, plan, implement and approve supplemental programs and expenditure of funds for eligible American Indian/Alaska Native students enrolled in the Santa Fe Public Schools.
The Native American Student Services is funded by Title VI, Johnson O'Malley, NM PED Indian Education and other Native American Parent Committee fundraising efforts (such as direct donations, Arts & Crafts Fair, etc.)
BRIAN LAMEMAN, CHAIR
Yá'át'ééh, my name is Brian Lameman. I am Diné, Kinłichíi'nii (Red House Clan), and grew up on the Navajo Nation around the Four Corners area in Northern Arizona and Utah. Having previously served as the treasurer, it is an honor to serve as the Chair of the NAPAC Committee. I have two sons attending SFPS, a high school senior in 12th grade at The Academy for Technology and the Classics and a 3rd grader at Piñon Elementary School. In my free time I like to travel with my family exploring national parks, museums, and attending cultural events. I love sci-fi, videography, film and animation.
During my career which led me on a path to working as an engineering and IT professional, I have always enjoyed working with culturally diverse communities. It is my goal to help support and find ways to empower Native students within the Santa Fe Public School District to be successful in their education journey.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out! I look forward to learning from SFPS indigenous families and how NAPAC can assist NASS in offering resources and activities that increase cultural awareness and meet the educational, social and emotional needs of Native American students.

MIKIKO ELLIS, VICE-CHAIR
My name is Mikiko Ellis. I’m originally from Pagosa Springs, Colorado–Ute, Apache, and Dine’ Lands. I’m honored to serve as Vice-Chair of the NAPAC Committee.
I have 2 children that attend SFPS. One in Kindergarten at Carlos Gilbert Elementary, and one in 10th grade at Santa Fe High School. My children are enrolled members of the Tlingit and Haida Tribes of Alaska. My ancestry is primarily Russian Jewish, Irish, and German.
I'm grateful for the work of NASS in our district, and hope to support ongoing programming that uplifts the SFPS Inter-tribal Indigenous Community. I look forward to learning from our students and families about how NAPAC can meet Indigenous student needs.
I've had the privilege of being an educator myself for nearly 20 years as a Middle School and High School teacher, and High School School Counselor. I currently work for the Teen Parent Program in SFPS and work directly with students in several schools.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, ideas, suggestions, and interest in getting involved with NAPAC!
With Gratitude,
