What is the LEARNING DESIGNER Program?
The LEARNING DESIGNER PROGRAM supports SFPS participants in the appropriate and effective integration of digital technology tools, systems, apps and resources into their work and teaching practice. Monthly learning-lab sessions support participants working individually and collaboratively to expand and elevate their digital technology knowledge and skills through readings, brainstorming, sharing, and working on a culminating project while receiving coaching and mentoring from the Digital Learning Coaches and your peers. All with plenty of time to implement and self reflect!
Q: How do I pursue being part of a LEARNING DESIGNER Cohort?
There are (5) STEPS to the process of joining the 2022 Learning Designer Cohort:
STEP 1: If you haven't already, please fill out the LEARNING DESIGNER Interest Form.
STEP 2: Decide if the Learning Designer Program is for you.
STEP 3: Submit the LEARNING DESIGNER Application
-NOTE: Choose and submit ONE prerequisite from the list below.
Completion of the SFPS Adopting Digital Technology course.
Submit Certificate/Badge for ONE of the following:
Completion of an ePD EMBRACE Level course Module:
ePD Open Access/Canvas EMBRACE course: View course - Enroll in course.
ePD Google Apps EMBRACE course: View course - Enroll in course.
Submit a technology-rich artifact (similar submission to the EMBRACE level course).
STEP 4: Get accepted!
STEP 5: Upon acceptance, you will be enrolled in the 2021/22 Learning Designer Canvas course. There you will complete two assignments:
Submit a signed Principal approval letter
Submit the Cohort Agreement form!
Q: What is in it for me?
You will have TIME to brainstorm, execute, and evaluate a digital technology rich learning experience you create for your students.
You will have plenty of support from Digital Learning Coaches, district tech gurus, and your peers to reach your goals.
You will be recognized for your work in the broader community, within the district, and at your school.
You will increase your personal and professional wellness through a deeper sense of accomplishment and by promoting a better class culture through more student voice and choice.
Q: When is the application due?
Application due: November 18, 2021.
Announce Cohort selections: no later than December 17, 2021.
Q: How long does the LEARNING DESIGNER Program last?
Program cohort has (6) in-person sessions, scheduled once per month, for a full-day.
Program begins January 2022.
Program ends December, 2022.
Q: How do I get my LEARNING DESIGNER Certification?
There are one of two Certificates to earn: Participation or Completion
Participation: Attend all required sessions and complete all the cohort requirements.
Completion: Attend all required sessions, complete all the cohort requirements, and achieve the Expand and/or Elevate badge.
