Title and Author of the Book: When the Stars Lead to You by Ronni Davis

Plot Overview (from Goodreads): Eighteen-year-old Devon longs for two things. The stars. And the boy she fell in love with last summer. When Ashton breaks Devon’s heart at the end of the most romantic and magical summer ever, she thinks her heart will never heal again. But over the course of the following year, Devon finds herself slowly putting the broken pieces back together. Now it’s senior year, and she’s determined to enjoy every moment of it as she prepares for a future studying the galaxies. That is, until Ashton shows up on the first day of school. Can she forgive him and open her heart again? Or are they doomed to repeat history?

Critique: My favorite charcter was Blair because of her relatable personality. She looks out for her friend, Devon, and does things every bff would do with each other. If I could change anything it would be to have a happier ending even though the one in the book was just as great.

Cover Critique: This cover captures what the book is truly about. The stars represent Devon's desire to become an astrophysicist. It also appears that Devon is on the cover by the beach where she met Ashton.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to a friend. I would tell them that this book is a romantic novel with a character going through depression. This book really shows what it means to be loved by someone even if you are sick. Another thing I would tell someone who wanted to read this book is that it is a GREAT novel. I loved the chemistry betwen Ashton and Devon and the journey they go through together.

I really enjoyed this book because it also explained what it would be like to care for a mentally sick person and what both people are going through. The connection that Ronni Davis portrayed between Ashton and Devon was so romantic and captured my attention so well I could not put the book down. If you are interested in Nicola Yoon and her books, this is a good book to try out and read.
