Reviews for "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" by Jenny Han

Emily Tan (December 18, 2020)

Plot Overview: A girl writes love letters to every boy she's ever loved, to keep for herself. Until, all the letters get sent out. Lara Jean must hide the fact that one of the letters was for her sister's boyfriend. When her sister's boyfriend confronts her, Lara gets herself caught into a terrible situation by kissing another boy, Peter. Lara Jean and Peter fake a relationship to save themselves, but end up falling in love.

Critique: To be honest, I think this book is much better than the movie. In the movie, they leave out key events, information, and important character development moments. All of the characters have a deeper personality than what is shown on the surface. When the author explains how Lara Jean describes her feelings, it builds a sense of relatable connection with the readers. This is a good book for teen romance, sisterly love, and comedy. I would recommend reading the book rather than watching the movie.
