Reviews for "Sinner" by Maggie Stiefvater

Title and Author: Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater

Plot Overview: Sinner is the final installment of Maggie Stiefvater's "Wolves of Mercy Falls" trilogy. Instead of focusing on the previous protagonists of the trilogy, Sam and Grace, Sinner tells the story of Cole and Isabel and their newfound lives in Los Angeles. As both hesitantly settle in at the entertainment capital, Cole, a lost superstar, and Isabel, a girl who looks to escape the loss of her past life, they find each other once again, but not before the the cameras catch up to Cole.

Critique: The most compelling aspect of this book is watching the once static characters from a series I love (The Wolves of Mercy Falls) come to the center, allowing me to read about their thoughts and overall growth. I would have loved to see a bit more of Sam and Grace, as well as some werewolf action, which has long since been a huge aspect of the series.

Cover Critique: The cover definitely did reflects the book's content, hinting at the setting (LA) and following a similar style to the previous books.

Star Rating: 4/5

Additional Comments: Although this book is not the finale of the series, it is still a follow-up. I would not have enjoyed it if not for my love of the other books. That being said, if you would like to enjoy Sinner to its fullest, make sure you have read Shiver, Linger, and Forever first.

Comment from Claire Bandet: If you like Maggie Stiefvater, I HIGHLY recommend her other YA books: Scorpio Races, and The Raven Cycle. And also I think a new one just came out maybe yesterday called All the Crooked Saints

P.s. even if you don’t like her books, I recommend them anyways
