Reviews for "MASH" by Richard Hooker

Plot Overview: This book follows the adventures and misadventures of various members of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital stationed in Korea during the Korean War. The book starts with the arrival of two new surgeons, Hawkeye Pierce and Duke Forrest, and details their work in emergency surgery as well as the various tricks they play on unsuspecting authorities to pass the time.

Critique: This book was absolutely hilarious. I laughed almost constantly while reading it. It definitely has Catch-22 vibes, but the plot is more linear and easier to follow. While there is no grand overarching method besides authority is arbitrary, it was a very enjoyable read. Good for anyone who needs a little—or a lot of—uncomplicated humor in their life right now.
