Plot overview: Maris Brown’s father, George, has a new family which she calls the New Browns. Her father was always away while Maris was growing up so when high school came along she took a lot of risks. She was always getting into trouble and that didn’t stop when she went on vacation with the New Browns in Cross Cove. On her first day there, they go to an island, Maris takes a risk and helps a stranger which starts her summer adventures that is potentially dangerous.

Critique: I was hoping to feel more with the end of the book.

Audience Appeal: If you like a book filled with romance, secrets, and lies, this book is for you.
