Reviews for "Anna K" by Jenny Lee

Plot Overview: Imagine the nice, quiet, A plus student in Gossip Girl. Anna K is at the top of Manhattan and Greenwich society. She has a perfect boyfriend and has always made her parents proud. In this book you see how Anna’s views change when she meets Alexia. You see their relationship through different eyes. When Anna meets Alexia, it’s the bad boy meets the good girl all over again. They instantly fall for each other, while everything around them starts to fall apart.

Critique: I really enjoyed this book actually! I did think it was a little confusing because there were many characters introduced early on. I thought it was interesting because you heard the story from many different eyes, and I really enjoyed that. I did on the other hand find myself bored at some parts but the plot twist at the end made up for it! This book had me crying! I totally recommend it!

Star Rating: 4/5

Other Comments: I think they are coming out with a second called Anna K Away on March 9, 2021.

More from Ms. Yang: I always think it's pretty daring and risky when an author decides to retell a classic -- Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. Even though, I didn't enjoy it as much as you did, the author did a good job of staying faithful to the essential storyline while making the characters very today's world real (esp. if you lead an A List lifestyle ; ) I appreciate that you found yourself crying at the end too because I remember reading Anna Karenina in high school and crying my eyes out!
