How do I log into Xero?

To log in to Xero, go to the Xero login screen. To log in to Xero Central, click Login at the top of any Xero Central page. Enter your email address and password, then click Log in. If you use MFA, follow the steps in Xero to authenticate your login.

We recommend you set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to protect your Xero login account. If you’ve set up MFA, you need to complete additional authentication steps when you log in to Xero.

You use the same login details for Xero, Xero Central and Xero’s mobile apps. If you're logged in to Xero or Xero Central, you're automatically logged in to the other (as long as you’re using the same browser for both). Logging out of one also logs you out of the other (within the same browser).

You can view articles in Xero Central without logging in, but to post in discussions or raise a case with Xero Support you need to log in.

Sign up with Xero and activate your account

1. Go to the Xero sign up page (Xero website).

2. Enter your details, read and agree to the Terms of Use and privacy policy, then click Get started.

3. Open the activation email from Xero login. Check your spam folder if you don't receive the email within a few minutes.

4. Click Yes, it's me - let's get started.

5. Create a password. Your password must contain at least eight characters and one number.

6. Click Activate your account.

7. Once your account is activated, you can start using Xero by adding an organisation or trying out Xero's demo company.

To log in to Xero Central, click Login at the top of any Xero Central page.

1. Enter your email address and password, then click xero Login.

2. If you use MFA, follow the steps in Xero to authenticate your login.

ios

• Open the app on your phone or tablet.

• Tap Log in.

• Enter your email and password.

• Tap Log in.

• If you use MFA, follow the steps in Xero to authenticate your login.

The first time you log in to Xero login for iOS, you can select an option from your device to lock the app, or you can leave it unlocked by selecting Don’t lock it.

Android

• Open the app on your phone or tablet.

• Tap Log in.

• Enter your email and password.

• Tap Log in.

• If you use MFA, follow the steps in Xero to authenticate your login.

The first time you log in to Xero for Android, either tap Yes please to keep the app unlocked or Yes, but lock it to use the existing lock method on your device.

To change the unlock option after you've logged in:

• Tap the menu icon on the dashboard, then tap Settings.

• Under Additional security, tap on the lock option shown.

• Tap one of the other lock options.

• To return to the dashboard, tap the back arrow.
