Only a few more days, and we will have successfully made it through the first grading period! It’s hard to believe how quickly the school year is moving along. Parent-Teacher Conferences are just around the corner on October 2 and 3. If you haven’t scheduled a time to meet with your child’s teacher yet, please be sure to reach out to them as soon as possible. You can communicate through Rooms, email, or call the school at 765-544-3331. After a well-deserved Fall Break from October 4-11, we will send home report cards in Friday Folders on October 18. We hope you and your family enjoy a relaxing and refreshing break! Take a look below for some exciting news and upcoming events.

WHS Boys Basketball Coach, Jeb Stewart is running a basketball league for grades 1-6. Practices and Games are Oct. 12, 19, 26 and Nov. 2, 9. The boys' basketball team will help coach the games, and we will have licensed officials. All money (which will be $2 person) will be used to pay officials and youth league volunteers. If you need to make a change to your child's transportation home, please notify the office by 2:00 p.m. We distribute red slips for these changes, and it can be difficult to ensure timely delivery if we are notified after 2:00 p.m. Additionally, please remind your child to take the red slip with them to the alternate transportation location.
Thank you for your cooperation!
The PTO Walk-a-Thon was a success. We were able to raise over $8,400! All of those funds will go right back to the students throughout the year for field trip expenses, classroom supplies, playground equipment, and activities that support learning. Thank you to all the families and community members that donated. We would love to have you join us on the third Monday of each month for PTO meetings at 7:00 p.m. in the WES Library or virtually using this link. Our next meeting is Oct. 21. We hope to see you in person or online!
Our top three Walk-a-Thon winners! Harper, Jack, and Caroline! The top three classes are Mrs. Shroeder, Mrs. Wendling, and Mrs. Stanton. Congratulations and thank you for your support!

National School Lunch Week is October 14-18. This year we will have a Pirate themed event. Get ready for an exciting adventure in the lunchroom, as we transform the cafeteria with fun decorations and activities for all to enjoy. As part of the fun, we’ll be sending out Pirate Activity Sheets to every classroom. Students can use these sheets to draw themselves as a pirate! Participation is completely optional, but those who join in have a chance to win! Each grade will have a winner, and the winning pirates will receive a certificate for a free ice cream treat from the cafeteria. October 16 will also be dress like a pirate day! Arrr you ready?
