Our General Meetings are open to any member of the community who supports Serrano Intermediate Students, Staff, and Families. The mission of the Serrano "Parent Teacher Student Association" is to support the educational enrichment and well-being of our Students, Families, and the local Community.
The MOST VALUABLE way to help our PTSA is to attend our meetings and learn about how we operate and pass our budgets, calendars, and reports.
Students can be members of our PTSA and participate in our meetings.
Meeting #1 - August 27th - Back To School Night. Adoption of Budget, Calendar, & Past Year's Financial Report.
Meeting #2 - November - Show Case (Open House) 6th Grade Parents Welcome!
Meeting #3 - January - Election of our Nominating Committee members.
Meeting #4 - March - Election of our Future Board Officers.
Meeting #5 - May - Installation of Officers, Adoption of Draft Budget & Calendar.
Dates and Times of General Meetings will be published to members & all Serrano Families through Parent Square.

Reflections Art Contest - Help will be needed during the month of October with reviewing the entries, preparing them for the judges, and collecting judges scores. Judges will be a mixture of staff and parents.
Online Auction - Chair wanted to prepare auction website - Help will be needed August-November in seeking donations from various businesses and sources.
International Week Assembly - Chair wanted to book Assembly through Segerstrom Center Arts Teach Program. This is done entirely through email.
Staff Appreciation Week - Chair wanted to plan a week of special treats and messages for our Staff. We usually have a donated or catered lunch and provide snacks all week.
Last Day of School 8th Grade Lunch - We will order a lot of pizzas from Costco, and coordinate donation or purchase of chips/cookies and beverages. Help will be needed day of with setup and distribution.
Painless Fundraisers - Dine out nights and simple online pledge-a-thons are how we keep our PTSA operating. Please help us out if you can. We are thankful to community partners like FivePoint and Bagels&Brew for their generous donations.
Communications/Social Media - Keeping parents informed takes a team. Serrano PTSA has a Facebook Discussion Group, an Instagram Page, and Serrano puts out a weekly Newsletter on Parent Square. Help us help you!

We are so thankful at Serrano to have an AMAZING STAFF that plans and coordinates many things that parents would have to run at the elementary level. There will be SIGNUPS on either Parent Square or Signup Genius for the following Volunteer Opportunities that are NOT PTSA Programs:
Three (3) Dances organized by ASB (chaperones needed)
Band Performances and Travel Trips
Seahawk Celebration (Field Day reward for ASB Fundraiser)
Career Day (Alternating Years)
Scholastic Book Fair (Organized by Librarian)
International Week Food Fair (PTSA books the Assembly)
8th Grade Trip to Knott's Berry Farm
8th Grade Heritage Trip to New York & DC!
Community Engagement Nights (Space Night/Movie Night) may change annually so attend meetings if interested!

Annual Art Contest Organized by National PTA. Serrano Winners are submitted to the Saddleback Level Contest and could advance to the State Contest.

Our Biggest Fundraiser is our Online Auction in December! We ask local businesses to donate experiences, products, and services which are tax deductible! Our school also provides fun things like a "Get out of a Homework Assignment Pass" or "Get out of a Mile Run Pass" along with other fun items and experiences donated by Teachers. We will be looking for help applying for donations, and putting together other fun items such as baskets.

Serrano Intermediate Celebrates International Week Annually with a Food Fair and Performing Arts Assembly for all Students. PTSA Books and pays for the Assembly Performers.

We are always trying to engage our community with Fun Family Events. Last year we held a K-pop Demon Hunter Movie Night with Popcorn and High School Volunteers. Our Science Teachers planned a Space Night with a generous donation from Five Point. All ages and families attending other schools are invited. Attend meetings to help us see what develops this year...

Staff Appreciation
Staff Appreciation Week is in May, but we celebrate our Staff year round. Beginning with a Breakfast on their first day back after summer, we regularly provide snacks, catering, and special ways to say "Thank You" to our staff!
8th Grade Celebration
8th Grade Celebration
8th Graders will get treated to a Pizza Party on the Last Day of School! We will be ordering Pizza, and collecting donations of chips, cookies, and beverages! ASB provides Ice Cream! Volunteers will be needed for setup.
