Calendar Blocks
Calendar Blocks
Times can be blocked on your SC 2.0 calendar. Blocks do not interfere with any other calendar events, so you can still schedule an appointment or put an opening up if there is a blocked time there. They are not recurring events, but can be replicated the same way that appointments repeat.Â
Blocks are invisible to clients. Their main purpose is to prevent openings from getting automatically added to your calendar.
Reminder:
Blocks are red.
Grey spaces on your calendar are timeframes outside of your working hours.
White spaces on your calendar are timeframes within your working hours.
White spaces that do not have an appointment or a block will be automatically filled with appointment openings 3 weeks out, each Sunday night. This means that an established client can reschedule into one of these green openings.
You are able to block at any time in the future, including beyond one month out.
What Happens When a "Recurring Slot (Open)" Overlaps With an "Opening"?
If a new client books the "Recurring Slot (open)" first, the overlapping "Opening" will be automatically removed.
If an established client reschedules into an "Opening" first, the overlapping "Recurring Slot (open)" will still be there. If the slot is taken and confirmed, there will be a collision with the new appointments and you will need to reschedule one of them.
What Happens When a "Block" Overlaps With an "Opening" or "Recurring Slot (Open)?
A red block WILL NOT have any functionality besides preventing openings from generating on your calendar each week. If a block overlaps with an opening or a slot, a client will still be able to book into one of these spots.
When adding blocks, please remove any openings and/or slots that overlap with it in order to prevent clients from scheduling there.
How To Add A Block
1. Either click "Add Appointment" at the top-right of the calendar OR click the space you would like to block directly on the calendar.
2. Click the drop down under "Appointment Type" and select "Blocked Time".
3. Ensure the "Date", "Start:" and "End:" are correct.
4. Optional: Select "Repeats" if you would like the block to repeat each week for X amount of time (up to 12 times). You can always create a new repeated block, as needed.
5. Optional: Label your block with a title.
6. If a red block is placed on the calendar first, the green opening will not generate during that time.
7. If a red block is placed on the calendar after the green opening has already generated, you will need to go remove the affected opening.
