Get rid of Windows Welcome after Windows updates

Turn off Deep Freeze & Reboot. Break past Envisionware(if needed.)

Log in as a patron (this is the account that we care about not getting anymore update messages)

Open Settings app from Windows Search or Start menu

Win 10

Win 11

Click on System (win10). In win 11 the default is the System options

If the top of your settings window looks like this:

Click Skip for now. The top of the window will change to this:

Navigate to Notifications & actions (win 10) or Notifications (win 11)

In the next screen, uncheck the option that reads “Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows”.

You can also uncheck the other two options “Show me the Windows welcome experience” and “Get tips, tricks, and suggestions” to reduce recommendations and similar prompts on Windows 10.

Win 11 Click Additional settings, three options will become visible, uncheck all three

Repeat these steps for the Administrator account, if desired
