Welcome to the Geography Department. You will have 4 lessons of Geography a fortnight in Year 7.
We will look at a variety of Geographical questions, issues and skills. For example; Map skills: find your way from A to B without getting lost! Atlas skills: find your way around our wonderful world – where have you been? Geographical skills: learn how to sketch, annotate and conduct a survey.
We will spend the rest of Year 7 exploring the Geography of the UK. We will investigate a range or exciting and interesting topics including: UK physical landscapes (rivers, coasts and mountains), researching the diverse range of cultures which make up the UK and look at challenges that the UK face on a daily basis including poverty, food and water supplies. In year 8 we will build upon this and look at the challenges on a global scale.
