We currently leverage Bluetooth to enable the Regulr App to detect when a customer is approaching your store's front doors.
Regulr simply uses existing iPhone & Android services already running on a customer's smart phone:
Step 1. We place a tiny bluetooth beacon within your store which creates a Geo-fence (basically a digital boundary) outlining your store's location, a few meters all the way around.
Step 2. When a customer with the Regulr App installed on their smartphone enters that digital boundary (the geo-fence) our service identifies the individual's name & profile stored in Regulr's cloud.
Step 3. Then a simple push notification via Slack is sent to you or your associate's device displaying the customer's name & photo.
You now can greet the customer by name as they enter. Making the customer experience more personal.
The notification of the customer approaching your doors is quick and seamless as it briefly pops up on your device's screen; similar to a typical text message notification.
You and the customer do nothing for this process to occur.
Your stores' Slack account would present a notification similar to something displayed below to the devices your store associates have access to. This can be the front desk POS, a tablet, phone, or even an iWatch!
The bluetooth beacon only wakes up the customers Regulr app once the phone is within range of the beacon. Typically this range is between 20-50 meters from the beacon itself.
This allows for the accurate detection & time for the processes in the background to push the end result of a Slack notification to your device of choice.
A customer does just 3 quick tasks to join Regulr:
The customer does not need to do anything again once the app is downloaded.
