I am pleased to announce that SeaLofts is now offering a plastic bottle recycling service. At this stage it is for plastic bottles of all types, but no other form of plastic such as wrapping or sheets. The recycling point is by the office in the green receptacle shown below - please leave your used bottles in this.
This recycling will be collected weekly and taken to the recycling facility on the island. This is a small but significant step in us all helping to reduce waste on the island and help maintain the wonderful environment on St Kitts.
Whilst we would like to offer a broader range of recycling services, similar to what many of us experience back home, we are dependent on the policies and procedures adopted locally by the government. We will continue to lead in this regard and push for broader policies to be adopted.
Work was recently undertaken to extend the rocks supporting our wall covering an area on the beach to the North side of the property by the side of the Residences next to the Marriott. The winter storms removed a significant amount of sand and earth at the end of the track risking the wall. The work was undertaken by the contractor that has done previous quality work for us and was finished within a day. 6 truck loads of 3 ton rocks were used to bolster the defences as shown below.
This is an item that was not budgeted for , but obviously needed to be undertaken in the interests of safety and securing the condos by the sea wall. Money will be used from the maintenance budget which will mean some pre-planned less urgent items will be postponed to next financial year in order to accommodate this unplanned expense.
In addition, a panel of the concrete wall (shown in the photo above on the left hand side) was removed by the Residences staff. This was severely overhanging on to the beach where bad weather had undercut the foundations. This has resulted in a safer access to the beach.

SeaLofts Pool Renovation (Phase 1 Complete)
I am pleased to report Phase 1 of the pool renovation completed in November 2025 and the pool has been enjoyed by homeowners and guests over the Christmas period. The leaks have been addressed, pool interior tiling replaced, new steps installed at the east end and a Diamondbrite slip free coating applied to the interior surface.
The project was completed within budget but the timetable was significantly missed due to delays outside our control.
Some additional photos are included at the bottom of this document that show the major items undertaken in Phase 1.
I want to give special thanks to Paul Hough and Joyce Isaac who have done a valiant job in managing the contractor to deliver. Thank you also to the following members of the pool committee who have guided the Board during this phase of the project and invested a significant amount of their time to this project.
Sue Daniels (#37)
Paul Hough (#31)
Lavina Liburd (#18)
Larry Lychowyd (#14)
David Nimmo (#14)
Mike Piasecki (#49/50)
The pool committee has also completed its work with a set of recommendations for Phase 2 covering the surrounding area of the pool. These items were voted on at December 4th AGM and work is currently underway to select a contractor for this work to be completed in August 2026. Phase 2 covers
New deck tiling
New stainless steel cable railings
New furniture and sun umbrellas
New Showers
Renovated Bathroom
If you have any further questions or comments about this project do reach out to me directly.
Regards,
Simon Porter
