Internship

In the architecture curriculum, completion of an internship is a vital component of the fourth year. This practical training period spans 100 days, providing aspiring architects with a real-world understanding of the profession. During my own internship, I had the privilege of spending five insightful months at the prestigious Pranav Deshmukh Architects firm. This valuable experience offered me a unique opportunity to expand my horizons and acquire practical skills beyond the confines of the classroom.

During my internship at Pranav Deshmukh Architects firm, I was immersed in the dynamic world of architecture, and the experience was truly transformative. Working alongside seasoned professionals, I gained invaluable insights into the practical application of architectural theories and concepts I had learned in my academic journey.

One of the key aspects of my internship was actively participating in the planning phase of various projects. I had the opportunity to collaborate with the team in brainstorming ideas, conducting site visits, and analyzing the site's context. This involvement in the initial stages of projects taught me the importance of thoughtful consideration and meticulous planning to create spaces that meet the needs and aspirations of the clients.

I also got to delve into the creation of working drawings. Under the guidance of senior architects, I learned to translate design concepts into precise and detailed technical drawings. This process exposed me to the intricacies of architectural documentation and the significance of accuracy in communicating ideas to builders and contractors.

Another crucial aspect of my internship was assisting with approvals. I gained hands-on experience in navigating through the regulatory processes and obtaining necessary permits from local authorities. This taught me about compliance, codes, and regulations, which are fundamental aspects of architectural practice.

Beyond the core architectural tasks, I had the opportunity to engage in various miscellaneous activities that contributed to the overall functioning of the firm. Whether it was conducting research on innovative building materials or assisting in client presentations, every task enhanced my adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Working in a professional architectural setting also taught me the value of effective communication and collaboration. I was a part of a diverse team with different skill sets, and learning to work harmoniously together was a valuable lesson in itself.

Overall, my internship at PranavDeshmukh Architects firm was an enriching experience that provided me with a deeper understanding of the practical aspects of architecture. It instilled in me a sense of responsibility and dedication towards creating spaces that enrich people's lives and the built environment. I am grateful for the opportunity and eager to apply the knowledge and skills I gained as I continue on my journey to becoming a licensed architect.
