My project resides around the idea of a cloaking space called "FOOD PARK".So the process started with observing the changes in practices before and after covid.My first practice was about how a d-mart shop which used to be a hypermarket has opened a lot of small online pickup points which are like a cloaking space.Like how the give and take interaction type has been shifted.

Further another set of observation resides upon the idea of how there are changes in usage of space or the space which is been used.Like an omni van school driver selling vegetables in van itself like a mobile vegetable shop.Different methods developed by different shops to keep running in these times.

So I choose viviana malls edge which is located in thane west as my site because I thought like mall as an whole entity is closed in these times but like a design can act as a "plug in" to the existing mall which can keep running. Like even if a mall has a medical shop or essential shops the 2 or 3 entries of the mall is closed everything inside the mall is also closed.

Taking the idea of cloaking space, scaffolds further and how it is placed in a order and form and from that I moved upon to ideas of different plinth levels and making more iterations with design syntax being more dilute.The idea of scaffolding and different plinth level arises from how the storage spaces was used from observations. Further taking this diagrams ahead and sketching according to the conditions which the site offers and where can these levels be placed.Like a pathway inside the billboards or the shops plugged into the mall itself and the drive through shops below the canopy.

Further working with different iterations in design this is the final design overview. It shows how things are coming together and how plug ins are situated.How steel slabs come together with the edge of the mall.Like how a plinth of one shop turns into shelf for another or how shelf of one shop turns into roof for another.So the shops included are medical shop,general store and dairy shop,fruit and vegetable seller,ATM,coffee shop and icecream shop,stalls(which keep running as an eatery in morning and sitting place later),drive through shops. Different sections cut at different axis show how plinth levels are coming together with stairs and some of the plinth levels are just enough for one to sit on one level and have thier legs relaxing on another level.

After covid this design can become a public space.Like it will make its own small pockets having different public experiences.It can even have small performances at certain points. Because once the mall is open the usage or interactions happening will be increased considerably.And can also become an extension to the mall as a place to loiter around like they used to do earlier in hypermarkets before covid.
