The self and the structure is a course towards developing practice of thinking, processing and
organising fragments, objects, material, data and the other. In the process of structuring one collects,
creates, makes, arranges, constructs and deconstructs. Structures of thinking will allow one to
appropriate and generate systems and processes for ourselves and others, to realign forces for better
management. The word structure here locates itself to a constant, a constant framework which
embodies agility. Any organised thinking embodies flexibility to attune to the dynamic forces. A
thinking and organisation process is made of several coordinates and forces which act together to
make something work. These coordinates - people, agencies, material such as objects, data and their
interpersonal connections are at play and need structuring. The process thus emerges synchronising
the interpersonal relationships of actors and objects together, projecting the forces and their
impacts, absorbing the conflicts, and accommodating the change. This course is premised on an
argument that conscious thinking may not only aid one to structure thoughts but allow one to
construct valuable reflections to accommodate change and develop agile frameworks. The course
will engage with structured questions as it sets out methods to sort things, to align, to schedule, to
strategize and to plan things to set them in rhythm. This begins with the act of possessing, collecting,
and also many a times creating and making.
