Memory Calendar

Prajwal Deshmukh

Prajwal Deshmukh uses the method of miniatures to collapse several memories into a calendar. A calendar which he can go back to and visit when he feels like revisiting those moments. This work emerged as Prajwal narrated his experience during the lockdown. The moments of strong emotions through the phase of the pandemic and before. Those moments of fear, loneliness, those moments of friendship, excitement and happiness all which flooded his memories during this period of lockdown. He captures the these moments in a series of matchboxes and holds them in the frame of the dates. Each matchbox captures a moment in time.

Miniaturisation allowed for a collapse. A collapse of time and space, a collapse of movement and patterns and the everyday. A collapse to hold a larger timeframe into a frame to be able to make sense of one being.
