They transform us into a young child, full of curiosity, using all available senses, barely able to contain themselves. When we are able to see significantly larger things in its entirety through miniature, we find it amusing. Gaston Bachelard in The Poetics of Space states the importance of going beyond amusement to understand the true psychological roots.
