Mrs. Ewing

The best teachers teach from the heart, not from a book!

My name is Mrs. Ewing. I grew up in Appanoose County and graduated from Moravia High School. I attended Simpson College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. While attending Simpson I focused on becoming an educator and student taught with Mr. Carr at SEW High School in 2003. I married Brian the next year and received a position at Indianola Middle School. I taught 8th grade Algebra and Pre-Algebra for 9 years at IMS. In 2006, Brogan was born, making him 13 years old now. My daughter, Belle was born in 2009 so she is 10. Also in 2009, I earned a Master's Degree in Education from Viterbo University. I started teaching at SEW High School in 2013 making this my 7th year at SEW and 16th year of teaching.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and playing games. We taught Brogan how to play pitch and cribbage; I think he is better than me already:) Some more of our favorite games include Sequence, Qwix, and Wizard. I also like to travel with my family. We have taken several cruises to Belize, Roatan Bay, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. We have enjoyed renting cabins in Arkansas and South Dakota. My favorite trip was to Hawaii. My husband and I enjoy taking helicopter rides on our trips. We have rode in a helicopter over the Badlands, the island of Oahu, the Grand Canyon, and Las Vegas.
