Welcome!

Pacific Trails Middle School uses the Next Generation Science Standards. Students will learn science content as well as scientific and engineering practices. This means students will learn the content and procedures necessary to grow as a scientist and engineer. This is an integrated science class, which means there is content covered from the Earth, physical, and life sciences. This class will emphasize becoming prepared for high school level science classes. A good middle school foundation in science will help students be successful in their high school science classes and their college/career paths.

Welcome to my virtual science classroom! This website is one of the many tools that will help you achieve success in my science class.

I am very excited to be teaching science at Pacific Trails Middle School. I grew up in San Diego and moved to Northern California for school. I attended UC Davis for my undergraduate and graduate education. My degrees are in Spanish and Evolutionary Anthropology. I also hold a Master of Arts in Education and Single Subject Biological Sciences credential with authorizations in Anthropology & Introductory Spanish. When I am not teaching, I am probably with my family and friends, watching movies, eating delicious food, practicing yoga, playing pickleball, going to the beach, cheering on the Padres, or reading.

I got married in March of 2025. You may have known me previously as Ms. Main!

Google Classroom

Students: Google Classroom will be the go-to spot for all of the important information for Science 8 with Ms. Main. This website has the basics, but Google Classroom has the details. If you need help getting to Google Classroom, let me know. Some assignments will not be in Google Classroom. For these, you will receive hard copies in class from Ms. Main.
Parents and guardians: Please enroll in guardian emails if you would like to be updated regularly on Google Classroom happenings. Don't know what guardian emails are or how to enroll? Click here!

Grades

Students/parents/guardians: Please check grades regularly using the Aeries portal. More details about grades can be found in the course syllabus.
