How to Prepare for an Knowledge Check
Organization:
Use your spiral notebook or three ring binder to keep your papers organized
Tabs across the top for lessons (1.0A Lesson, 1.0B Lesson, 1.1A Lesson...etc)
Tabs across the side for homework (1.0A HW, 1.0B HW, 1.1A HW...etc)
It will be easier for you to find your work if you "file" your homework assignment right after the matching lesson
It is helpful for you to "file" your corrected homework assignment after the Lesson, if you are using a three ring binder
Prepare your lessons:
Have you filled in all of the problems?
Did you take notes on important topics discussed in class?
Did you star or highlight any important concepts?
Did you correct any mistakes you might have made when trying problems on your own?
Did you write down any hints or reminders your teacher gave you during class?
Do you understand the concepts covered in class?
Did you compare your lessons to the keyed lessons on my website?
Homework:
Are all of your homework assignments labels so you can find them?
Does your homework have all of your work clearly shown?Â
Did you go back and add any needed work?
Have you corrected your mistakes with work shown?
Is it obvious to you which homework problems you fixed?
Did you ask questions or come in for help on the problems you did not understand?
During the Knowledge Check:
Did you read the problem carefully and answer all the parts?
Did you follow all directions?
Did you reread your explanations? Do they make sense? Are they specific?
Did you show all of your work?
Did you remember any required labels?
Is your work legible?
Have you tried every problem?
