What is Avenues for success(AFS)?

AFS is a comprehensive college and career access, and college persistence and completion program that is dedicated to serve first-generation, low-income students from Hoover High School. Funded by the Price Philanthropies Foundation, the AFS program provides services to students and alumni as they set education and career goals, identify viable pathways to employment, navigate the college enrollment, completion, and financial aid process, persist from college to graduation, and connect with resources to succeed. Parents and guardians are an integral partner in their students' lives and receive ongoing support from Avenues for Success staff to help their students realize their future self and set goals to achieve their aspirations. 

Avenues for Success is made possible through a unique and enduring partnership with Price Philanthropies, whose deep investment in the City Heights community has transformed educational opportunities for students and families. Thanks to this partnership, we able to provide holistic, student-centered support—from college and career readiness to persistence and completion—that reflects a shared commitment to equity, access, and long-term success.
