Recording of SDRA Virtual Town Hall with Lord Mayor

On, Tuesday, October 6, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Mike Pearsall, President of the SDRA, attended an online meeting with the Lord Mayor. Mike was be the only person in the actual meeting, but the Town's IT department livestreamed and recorded the meeting.

October 6 - SDRA Virtual Town Hall with Lord Mayor

The Lord Mayor is setting up an online meeting with the St David’s Ratepayers Association (SDRA) Board on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. We would like to share your comments, issues, concerns and suggestions with her at the meeting.

As your Board of Directors our issues and concerns for St. David's include:

  • St. David's Pool. Residents are upset it wasn’t open this year. Is the Town considering adding the pool to the COVID relief infrastructure spending? What is the Town's plan for the pool?

  • Heritage Conservation District. There have been no recent updates. What progress has been made?

  • Official Plan. Where exactly do things sit? The Glendale Secondary Plan appears near completion now. What is the status of updating the St. David's Secondary Plan?

  • Firehall. There is no reason to move the Firehall. It sits on a large piece of land with lots of room to expand and the population of St. David's is growing by the day. What exactly is the Town's plan?

  • Dyck Lane. What can be done about the dust?

  • Four Corners. What is the status of improvements?

  • Paxton Lane. What is the status of the new development proposal?

UPDATE: 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) POSTPONED

Due to these unprecedented times, the Executive Council has reviewed the current situation regarding the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and we find that it would be very difficult to try and hold this meeting using technology instead of face to face means.

We believe the AGM is an important event and want to maximize the communication with personal interactions.

In that light, we have decided to postpone the meeting until such time it is determined to be safe to have a proper gathering.

In the meantime, if there are any issues that you feel should be brought to our attention, please feel free to reach out to any of our committee members. We would be happy to assist with the issues.

SDRA Membership

Traditionally most members renew their SDRA membership at the AGM. With the postponement of the AGM we are going to extend all current memberships until it is safe to get together again.

To be a member of the St. Davids Ratepayers Association Inc., you MUST own property in St. Davids.

Our membership year runs May 1st to April 30. Membership fees are $15 per person per year or part year.

To become a member, complete the following SDRA Membership form. Be sure to read the SDRA Privacy By-law.

You may pay your membership fee by:

  • etransfer payment (to treasurer@sdra.ca);

  • cash (in a clearly-marked envelope);

  • cheque (made out to St. Davids Ratepayers Association Inc.).

Cash and cheques can be handed to a Board of Directors member or mailed to St. Davids Ratepayers Association, 2 Tulip Tree Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, L0S 1J1
