All Procedures are Established by Community Clinic and the School Based Health Centers and are in Alignment with Best Practices Established by the Arkansas Department of Health
Springdale Schools Wellness Centers and the Community Clinic are available to any and all students, staff, parents, or community members.
The Wellness Center at Elmdale Elementary School, 420 North West End Avenue, 479-872-3050
The Wellness Center at George Elementary School, 2878 South Powell Street, 479-872-3045
The Wellness Center at Jones Elementary School, 900 South Powell Street, 479-872-3041
The Panther Medical and Counseling Center at Parson Hills, 2326 Cardinal Drive, 479-872-3058
Drive up testing is available at the main Community Clinic in Springdale at 614 East Emma, (located behind the old JTL shop in what is now known as the Center for Nonprofits) on the west side of the building. Call or text first for an appointment 1-855-438-2280. This service is for those who only need to be tested and do not need to visit with a medical provider.
For patients (students and staff) that are experiencing symptoms, we encourage an office visit at one of the School Based Health Centers. The medical providers can assess symptoms and perform all indicated tests, COVID-19, flu, strep etc. as well as provide medical guidance.
Students and staff who are not experiencing symptoms, but have had a known exposure, may call and schedule a “send out” test at one of the School Based Health Centers. This test may be done without a medical provider visit, but has to be sent to a lab and may take a few days for results, PATIENTS MUST QUARANTINE WHILE AWAITING RESULTS.
Community Clinic and the SBHC’s would optimally have a signed permission slip on file, in the event that it isn’t possible, the students would be asked to fill out the paperwork and get verbal permission over the phone. If that is not possible but the medical provider deems the student competent to understand and appreciate the proposed procedure/treatment, they can perform the test and document to that effect.
Most insurances currently cover COVID-19 visits or tests with little to no cost to the patient-check insurance coverage for specifics.
Medical office visits are covered under a patient's insurance plan, (many COVID-19 visits have special coverages)-sliding scale coverage is available to persons without insurance.

Vaccinated persons with an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they meet all of the following criteria:
Are fully vaccinated (i.e. over two weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or more than two weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine)
Are within 3 months following receipt of the last dose in the series
Have remained asymptomatic since the current COVID-19 exposure
Fully vaccinated persons who do not quarantine should still watch for symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days following an exposure. If they experience symptoms, they should be clinically evaluated for COVID-19.
If you are identified as a probable close contact (PCC) due to exposure at school and you are greater than 2 weeks and less than 3 months from the second dose of your COVID-19 vaccine, please show your school nurse a copy of your vaccine card to be removed from the PCC list. A picture of the card stored on your phone is sufficient.
If you are exposed to COVID-19 outside of school and are greater than 2 weeks and less than 3 months from your second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, you no longer need to complete the "household exposure" form.
Please remember, these new guidelines only apply to asymptomatic people. If you develop symptoms, you should seek clinical evaluation for COVID-19.
The new guidelines DO NOT change the requirements to wear masks. Social distancing protocols should also continue to be followed.
If you have questions about these new guidelines, please contact your school nurse.

The Springdale Public School District plans to extend the use of a maximum of 20 days of COVID leave through June 30, 2021. The School Board will vote on the proposal on January 12, 2021 during the January School Board Meeting.
Please see the proposal below:
SPRINGDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT EXTENDED COVID LEAVE PROPOSAL:
All state and federal COVID leave expired December 31, 2020.
However, Springdale School District employees will be allowed to use a maximum of 20 days of COVID leave from when COVID leave began (in June 2020) through June 30, 2021. This is not a provision of additional COVID leave days, but instead a Springdale School District extension of COVID leave through the end of the 2020-21 fiscal year for those employees who have not already taken 20 days of COVID leave.
The qualifying reasons for Springdale School District COVID leave are outlined below and follow the reasons previously used for COVID leave provided by State and Federal law. Maximum number of COVID leave for any and all reasons is 20 days.
Employees who request Springdale School District COVID leave for the green highlighted reasons would continue to receive ⅔ of their daily rate of pay (up to $200 per day) with the option to substitute ⅓ day of either sick or personal leave depending on the reason for COVID related leave.
All Springdale School District COVID leave must be supported by documentation BEFORE it will be granted. No documentation = No Springdale School District COVID leave. Days absent should be entered as “Pending COVID” in AESOP until COVID leave is approved.
This proposal does not extend the Emergency Family Medical Leave that allowed for up to 12 weeks of COVID leave if a school or childcare facility closes. Springdale School District COVID leave is available for this reason, but the leave will be capped at 10 days. Traditional FMLA is still available for qualifying reasons.
An employee’s eligibility for leave under this proposal will expire (1) if Federal or State leave for COVID is renewed, extended, or replaced or (2) on June 30, 2021, whichever comes first. 10 days are available for the following:
If the employee is subject to a State, Federal, or local quarantine order related to COVID-19;
If the employee has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19;
If the employee is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and seeking a medical diagnosis;
If the employee is caring for an individual subject to a quarantine order or who has been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine (leave paid at ⅔ daily rate, up to $200 per day, with option to substitute ⅓ sick day)
If the employee is caring for an individual whose school or place of care is closed (or child care provider is unavailable) due to COVID-19 (leave paid at ⅔ daily rate, up to $200 per day, with option to substitute ⅓ personal day)
An additional 10 days are available for the following:
If the employee tests positive for COVID-19;
If the employee is a close contact or probable close contact; or
If the employee is experiencing COVID-19 and seeking a medical diagnosis
