At Har-Ber, we recognize that the high school years are challenging. Students are trying to balance academics, work load, relationships, and preparing for the future all while trying to figure out who they are, what they value, and what they want for their lives. Unfortunately, when time is tight and stress is high, something has to be cut. Frequently, the crucial self-exploration piece of high school is sacrificed.
Advisory, at Har-Ber, is focused on giving students the time to participate in Social and Emotional Learning. Activities and lessons are centered around the 5 Keys to Success:
Self-Awareness
Self-Management
Social Awareness
Relationship Skills
Responsible Decision Making.
When students have greater social and emotional competence it will enhance their ability to engage in learning, advocate for their needs, and succeed in school, careers, and life.
