WIS Math Specialist
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It's "Back to School" time again and I hope you've had an amazing and restful summer! I look forward to meeting all of you and working together toward a fun-filled and productive school year! I'm especially excited to meet your sons and daughters and get this school year going! On this site you will find information on homeroom activities and details specific to each of the classes that I teach.
Please use the menu options at the top of the page to navigate your way around this site. I update it regularly each weekend for the week ahead. It is the best way for all parents to stay informed on what's happening in Room 111.
The "Homeroom Announcements" post are a sub-heading underneath the "Home" page. This will direct you to a page where I post notices regarding specific homeroom news and general WIS-related news, events and activities. Those of you in my Homeroom Class should check this page for information frequently. You can also click this News & Announcements image:

Who is the Math Specialist?
My name is Mrs. Kadus and I have taught at WIS for six years.
What do you think Thomas Edison means in this famous quote by him?
One of the other things I did this summer was to try ice cream made right before my eyes with liquid nitrogen! That's right! There's a picture right there of my ice cream being frozen in a metal bowl with a gas called liquid nitrogen. The cream and chocolate flavoring (because chocolate is my favorite) is blasted with -321 degrees of liquid nitrogen and then it's hand mixed and freezes instantly into your own personal dish of ice cream. That was really an awesome experience!
Now that you know a little bit about me - I hope you are beginning to get excited about our class. It's going to be a lot of fun!
Fifth grade is likely to be one of your most memorable years at WIS. I am excited to get to know each of you this week. I also can't wait to start working with you to have a fun and successful year!
Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu is known to have said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." In fifth grade you will take many steps as you continue to prepare for middle school and your future. We will work together to develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills in all of our classes. There is a lot to accomplish and I am looking forward to taking these steps with you this school year!
