Purpose
Using Ktunaxa educational traditions and knowledge of being in nature, we will promote wellness to the students and staff at KRSS through time spent on or at the Kootenay River. This opportunity gives everyone an opportunity to learn about traditional stories of the Kootenay River and to appreciate the beauty only the Creston Valley can provide.

How to be good stewards of the land
To revitalize Indigenous languages and practices
To re-engage Indigenous youth in their own education
To build community connectedness
To empower youth to fight for their rights, including their rights to protect their own land
Empowers all youth to share their knowledge about the land with others, which will increase awareness and understanding.
