My name is Sara Shapiro and this is my third year teaching in Skokie District 73.5.  I was born and raised in Highland Park IL, and currently live in Chicago. I went to Indiana University for my Bachelor's degree in Youth Development and Family Studies. I continued my education at National Louis University where I obtained a Master's degree in Teaching in Special Education. I am no stranger to the Skokie community as I have been traveling here for years to eat and spend time with family and friends. I love the rich diversity this community has to offer! 

When I am not at school I enjoy yoga, rollerblading, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family/friends. I also enjoy spending time with my new puppy Minnie, who is the cutest Bernese Mountain Dog ever! I am looking forward to a wonderful school year and excited to be apart of your child’s educational journey here at John Middleton Elementary.
