All About Me
Hello! I'm Mrs. Douglas, the Kindergarten Special Education Resource Teacher here at Meyer School!
I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year! As I know how important forming relationships and getting to know each other are, I wanted to let you know a little bit about myself.
I am beginning my twelfth year teaching and this is my fifth year at Elizabeth Meyer School. I was born and raised in Skokie and love the rich diversity this community has to offer! I live with my seven-year-old daughter Matilda, our cat Hazel, and our dog Ruby. I went to Northeastern Illinois University for my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I continued my education at National Louis University where I obtained a Master's degree in Specialized Endorsements, with a focus on Special Education and English Language Learners.
In my free time I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel, take pictures, and read with Matilda.
These are a few of my favorite things:
Favorite Color: Purple
Favorite Food: French Fries
Favorite Animal: Giraffe
Favorite Children's Book Author: Todd Parr
Favorite Flower: Sunflower
Favorite Part of Kindergarten: My students!
I am looking forward to getting to know you, your family, and your child! It is a critical piece of your child’s education that we work together as a team in order to have a successful school year! You can always call or e-mail me with any questions/concerns/positivity! I will get back to you as soon as possible. Please further explore my website. Thank you!
