Students interested in this program must meet with a Career Teacher to development a personal education/transition plan and complete all appropriate application and registration forms.

There are tremendous opportunities for students with education and experience in the metal technology field. It can lead to the following vocations:

  • Millwright
  • Sheet Metal Worker
  • Tool and Die Maker

People with these qualifications are in demand, enjoy satisfying work and earn excellent wages.

The goal of this program is to prepare secondary school students for high-level entry into many of the above vocations by developing the theoretical and practical skills equivalent to a first year machinist apprentice. Students who enter this rigorous 2-year program must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic and be disciplined and committed to achieving this goal.
