Personal Safety

I teach personal safety lessons here at Ponderosa. The personal safety lessons are age appropriate, and progressive – building on previous lessons. I teach from “Second Step: Child Protection” personal safety curriculum. This is a district approved personal safety curriculum created by “The Committee for Children” and it teaches skills that help children recognize and respond to dangerous situations. Open communication and family safety rules are highly emphasized. In the Post Falls School District most students receive the entire curriculum in first, second, and third grade. In fourth grade I provide a brief review of the material. You can see more about this curriculum online at www.cfchildren.org.
