Watershed Education Fellowship
The Watershed Education Fellowship is a seven month fellowship for people who:
- currently are or would like to be involved in water education at the K-12 level in South Dakota and
- are interested in improving their abilities, skills and knowledge in how to be an effective watershed educator.
Watershed Education Fellows may be completely new to watershed education or may have some experience. Potential applicants include conservation district employees, youth development staff and leaders (4H, Scouts), and agency and organization staff that have outreach as part of their duties (i.e. water festival presenters, et al).
Watershed Education Fellows participate in an intensive professional development 12 pm Tuesday November 27 - 5 pm Thursday November 29 2018 as well as a follow up webinar in January (date TBD). Fellows plan and implement a water education activity during the first six months of 2019 in South Dakota. Fellows receive lodging, per diem (state rates) and mileage (state rates) for the professional development and up to $500 reimbursement to cover supplies and materials associated with planning and implementing a watershed education event or activity. A $250 stipend is available upon completion of activity for those whose contracts allow them to receive stipends . Location of November training to be determined by the central point of selected applicants.
Applications are due August 31 with selection announced by September 24. To apply complete the form below. This form is also available Watershed Education Fellow. View a preview of the application form in PDF.
