Welcome to the Sioux Center Warrior Orchestra (SC-ORCH)

2026-27 will be the 2nd year for the Sioux Center CSD Warrior Orchestra! As a school-sponsored activity, our program strives to educate and inspire young musicians from 3rd through 12th grade through the art of stringed instruments.

Our Ensembles

• Embers (Grades 3–5): Focusing on foundational skills and early ensemble playing.

• Fire (Grades 6–12): For intermediate to advanced players.

Getting Started: Lessons & Instruments

Lessons: The journey begins with a 13-minute weekly individual lesson held before, during or after school. Lesson schedules are finalized in the fall.

Group Orchestra: Students transition into the group orchestra once they complete their first lesson book (typically during their second year of lessons).

Instrument Options: Violin, Viola, Cello, or Bass.

• Sizing & Rental: Students must be measured for the correct size before obtaining an instrument. Detailed rental and ownership information will be provided in May at a parent meeting or upon special request. We strongly recommend consulting the director before purchasing or renting elsewhere.

• Financial Assistance: The school maintains a limited inventory of instruments for families in need. Additionally, All Kids Can offers generous support for private lessons and lesson books.

Important Dates - Dates updated when finalized

• Spring 2026: 2nd Grader Assembly to introduce students to the orchestra program

• April 2026:  2nd and 3rd grade String Petting Zoo with Miss G.  Students have a chance to try each stringed instrument. Parent information sent home.

• May 6,7:  Student recitals at the Black Box Theater

• May 12 @ 5:45: FIRE performs dinner music at the MS pops concert.

• May 13, 2026 @ 6:30: Spring Concert at the Black Box Theater

• May 13, 2026 @ 7:30: Parent Meeting at the Black Box Theater

• Fall 2026: Weekly lesson schedules will be finalized.
