Being trauma- skilled is shifting our approach to problem solving with students, prioritizing creating a healthy campus and classroom culture, and well-being.
The Trauma Skilled Approach is based on a model developed by the National Drop Out Prevention Center and is defined as:
"The Trauma-Skilled Schools Model (TSS Model) seeks not to identify trauma-impacted students, but to build within the district/school/teachers/staff the capacity to deepen their understanding of trauma, create strategies, policies and procedures that support students, and establish a culture that eliminates practices that may be detrimental to trauma-impacted students."
Resources listed here aim to support that work. See Links listed below and please email me if you would like to add anything to the list jospehine-jones-pugh@scusd.edu
