Windows 10 

Below are some tutorials to help with the transition from your Windows 7 laptop/desktop to your new Windows 10 device. I recommend that you watch them in the order that they are presented. It may be helpful to watch the tutorial on one device while working on the other.  This will allow you to pause the video and apply changes as your go.

4.  Chrome Bookmarks Bar (3:44)

Learn to bookmark your favorite websites and organize your bookmarks.

5.  Sign in to Chrome (5:15)

Learn to sync bookmarks, saved passwords, apps, and extensions across multiple devices.  Also, learn to use this simple process to manage multiple Gmail (personal and professional) accounts.

6. Chrome Browser Settings (4:35)

Learn to set your home page, create desktop shortcuts, set startup pages in Chrome, set default your search engine, and make Google Chrome your default browser. 

7. Windows 10 - Locating and Pinning Your Apps and Programs (2:18)

Learn to search for your programs and apps using Cortana and pin them to the start menu, your task bar, or desktop.  

8.  Windows 10 Graphics Properties (3:00)

Learn to expand your projector display to fill your whiteboard and to extend or duplicate your laptop screen.  


9.  Adjust power and sleep settings in Windows 10

Learn to keep your laptop from entering hibernate or sleep mode.  

10. Set default email app in Windows 10 & Windows 7

Learn to change the default email app from Microsoft Outlook to Google Gmail.

11.  Transfer files via Google Drive (3:45)

Before you move your files/folders you may want to turn off the option to convert files to Google Docs. This will save Word Documents, Excel Files, etc. in the Microsoft formats and preserve the formatting of those files.  For directions click here.

14.  Google Drive File Stream (3:54)

Download Google Drive File Steam to view, organize, as save files and folders to your My Drive and Team Drive using the Windows File Explorer.  You can also sync selected files and folders for offline work.
