1. How to Create a Teacher Account using Google credentials.  Choose the Google option and follow the steps.

 If you already have a Newsela account, this will allow you to merge with your old account.  Logging in with Google will integrate Newsela with Google Classroom.  

2.  How to Create Classes using Google Classroom. Choose the Google option and follow the steps.

3.  How to Create Student Accounts using Google credentials.  Choose the Google option and follow the steps.  To get your students logged in to Newsela, share these instructions in Google Classroom.  

4.  Search for  Articles and Text Sets

5.  Assigning in Google Classroom

6.  After you have completed steps 1 - 5, record your PL on the SCSS Professional Learning Documentation Form.

• You will have 30 days to complete the lessons and exam

• Credentials are valid for 2 years
