Welcome to Sandusky Intermediate School. A bit about myself: I began teaching 7th-grade math for the district in 1998 at Adams Jr. High. I have taught grades 5-8 in various SCS buildings. I also acted as an instructional coach for the district. I spent 4 years as a Middle/HS principal in a nearby district before coming back to SCS in 2017. From 2018-2020, I was the principal of Ontario Elementary. As an SCS administrator, I truly enjoy seeing my former students walk through the door with their children. We are a family here at SCS! I have served the district for 20 years in various roles including title teacher, intervention specialist, 5th /6th grade teacher and coach. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Defiance College and Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University. I look forward to meeting all our SIS students and families and welcoming everyone into our building.

Meet the SIS Administrative assistants

Ms. Schlett

This is my 21^st year as an Administrative Assistant with Sandusky City Schools. I started at Madison Elementary, and was there for (10) years until they closed. And then went over to Venice Heights Elementary for (10) years until the new Intermediate School opened this year. I am the Sandusky Non-Teaching Employee Association President. I also enjoy coaching tumbling/gymnastics classes. I have coached for SHS, YMCA, and Champion Cheer and Tumble. I have two children, Emilee Sears who just moved to South Carolina, and is married, and Sam Schlett who lives here in Sandusky. Also have one grandson, Carter Sears, and my dog Baily.

Hi, I am Valerie Thomas, Administrative Assistant at the Sandusky Intermediate School. I have been in the Sandusky City Schools for 23 years. I have been at the Board of Education, Monroe Elementary, Ontario Elementary, and now the intermediate building. I truly love my job with Sandusky City Schools. I have 5 children and 14 wonderful grandchildren.
