The Suwannee High School Finance Academy toured First Federal Bank in Lake City! Students were able to observe the normal routine of banking operations that included checking and savings accounts, loans, what counterfeit money looks and feels like, marketing, and how a bank handles and investigates security issues. In addition, the students spent some time with Mr. Keith Leibfried, President of First Federal Bank, to discuss how policies and procedures are formed in banking. He also gave them advice on personal savings and money habits! The Finance Academy also spent time with the IT department learning about the large data elements of First Federal and how broad a region it covers. Students walked away from the tour with a greater understanding of the many different career opportunities involved in operating a bank!
